This is an attractively large bowl (D 25 cm H 12 cm) Edo period (1603 – 1867). It is an exceptional example of Imari style, with decorations painted blue, red, and gold as dominating colors. The painting has typical Japanese flower motifs such as chrysanthemums and iris. A couple of short hairline cracks on the edge, common for the age, do not detract from use or display.
